Essentially guests don't have to check out of their room until someone checks in. We think hotels keeping the rooms vacant are a bit of a waste. If people are not using them, why not let guests stay longer - even if it's a few days! Naked have developed a genuine product innovation we're extremely excited by. We're rolling it out over summer - and then we'll see how we go, with the aim to introduce the product during quiet times of the year.
Adam Ferrier, founder of Naked Communications, which has made a series of adverts for the new project, said: "Having to check out by 11.00am is not very cool, especially if no one else needs the room. We've worked with Art Series to rejig the whole thing - and we are really excited to announce the Overstay Checkout. The hotel in effect is giving away something of value to the consumer - late check outs and free overnight stays, whilst at the same time it doesn't cost the hotel anything as its all unsold inventory." The Overstay Checkout operates between December 16th to January 13th, and is open to anyone staying at the hotel. The Art Series Hotel Group has created three boutique hotels in Melbourne in less than a year.
